Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address at the India Today Conclave, revealed his forward-looking approach by actively strategizing for the year 2047, emphasizing the importance of long-term planning over short-term goals. When questioned about preparations for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi redirected the focus towards broader horizons, stating, "Find out what Modi is. You are stuck on 2029 but I am planning for 2047."

Focus on National Development

Highlighting the current mood of the nation, PM Modi emphasized India's efforts towards becoming a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and positioning itself as the world's third-largest economy. Amid global uncertainties, PM Modi expressed confidence in India's rapid development pace, setting a vision for a robust and prosperous future.

Transformation of Northeast Region

PM Modi also touched upon the transformation witnessed in the Northeast region under his administration. He criticized previous governments, particularly the Congress, for neglecting the Northeast, which was historically at the bottom of the list of priorities. However, he highlighted a significant shift in approach, with the BJP-led Centre actively prioritizing the development of the Northeast over the past decade.

Enhanced Attention and Investment

Underscoring the increased attention towards the Northeast, PM Modi mentioned the substantial number of visits made by Central ministers to the region, totaling 680 visits. He personally undertook numerous trips to the Northeast, surpassing the combined visits of previous Prime Ministers. This concerted effort aimed at changing the mindset regarding the region, transforming villages from being labeled as the last in India to being celebrated as the first in terms of development.

Commitment to Development and Growth

PM Modi's remarks at the India Today Conclave reflect a strong commitment to national development, long-term planning, and prioritizing neglected regions for inclusive growth. His vision for India in 2047 signals an aspirational goal aligned with the nation's journey towards progress and prosperity on a global scale.
